Planning a wedding can quickly become a source of stress - multiple vendors to coordinate, budget to track, guests to manage, tasks to divide between the future spouses. Many couples hire a wedding planner, but others prefer to stay in control while still needing a reliable tool to guide them along the way. In this project, the objective is to develop a complete web application allowing a couple to manage all aspects of their wedding planning, while providing training in full-stack development with the MERN stack.
To achieve this, a Single Page Application (SPA) is designed, capable of dynamically rewriting all information related to the planning. The MERN stack — MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js — is chosen to benefit from a unified JavaScript ecosystem from frontend to backend. MongoDB stores the data flexibly, Express and Node.js handle the server and API routes, while React ensures a responsive and smooth user interface.
The application now allows the couple to visualize the progress of each planning step, clearly divide tasks and responsibilities between the two partners, and centralize all information to approach the big day stress-free.
