Interactive Dashboard with Tableau
How can we effectively raise public awareness about the evolution of a global health crisis? Data visualization offers a powerful answer: transforming raw numbers into visual insights understandable by everyone. This is the objective I set for myself with this COVID-19 dashboard project.
In this project, my goal was to create an interactive dashboard presenting COVID-19 trends by country, with automatic data updates to reflect the pandemic's evolution in real time.
To achieve this, I used Tableau, a Business Intelligence tool widely adopted by companies like Amazon, Experian and Unilever to explore, visualize and securely share data. Tableau enables the creation of elegant dashboards quickly, with little or no code. I connected the dashboard to a Google Sheets source fed by open data from the European Union (EU Open Data Portal), allowing automatic refresh of visualizations whenever the source data is updated.
The creation process followed several steps: data import and cleaning in Excel, data source connection in Tableau, visualization design (maps, trend charts, key indicators), assembly of elements into an interactive dashboard, and finally publication on Tableau Public for online access.
